Can you help us restore peace at Malahide Castle through a series of fun challenges? We must save our resident ghost from the claws of Salem.

(spooky witch hunt trail for little ones with Puckus found at the end!)

Who’s Puck?

Puck the prankster

The best-known ghostly but friendly resident of Malahide Castle, is a mischievous spirit named Puck, who lived there during the reign of Henry VIII. Puck was reportedly a four-foot-tall watchman who also served as a jester to a generation of the Talbots, the aristocratic family who were in possession of the estate for around 800 years (apart from the Cromwellian period in which it was under the control of Miles Corbet).

Puck has historically been regarded as a non-threatening spirit whose “haunting” of the castle more so revolves around protecting it – and pranking those within its walls. He is a ‘nice’ ghost. Talbot family letters are said to mention his continued presence for generations, referring to a sense that he was still acting as a watchman centuries after his death

We are dialling up the childlike fun with a spooky quest this Halloween with lighting, sound effects and theatrical hilarity!

Think the Movie Hocus Pocus meets Puck the Castle protector with a Malahide twist!

Little treat bag for every kid at the end. Games and challenges, spells and cauldrons.

Discover the magic spellbook of the Sanderon Sisters from Hocus Pocus if you get to the end of the trail.
