Celebrate International Women’s Day 2019 at Malahide Castle and Gardens on Friday 8 March from 7pm.
Join us for a special event honouring the lives of the many generations of trailblazing Talbot women who have called Malahide Castle home.
You’ll be warmly welcomed with a wine and cheese reception in the castle interpretive area from 7pm.
From 7.45pm, join two of our expert guides, Aidan and Susan, as they walk you through the rooms where the Talbot women lived, sharing stories of their extraordinary achievements and ordinary lives across the centuries.
Learn about Maud Talbot, married at age 14 and widowed on her wedding day; Frances Talbot, a thrill-seeking adventuress who defied 18th century conventions by travelling the world; Lady Isabel Talbot, who served as President of the Dublin Red Cross during World War I; and many more, including the hard-working servant girls and the infamous ghost of the White Lady.
