Set on 260 acres of parkland, the gardens and Butterfly House at Malahide Castle are a tranquil retreat just minutes away from Dublin city centre and airport. Discover 5,000 plant varieties from around the world, wood carvings and fairy trails with perfect picnic-ing spots and much more during your visit. Malahide Gardens are open from 9.30am, with last entry at 4.30pm year round. Tickets can be purchased online or on arrival at the visitor centre at Malahide Castle. Family friendly in every sense of the word, the Fairy Trail is an enchanting experience in the wooded West Lawn. With fun sculptures, fairy houses and lots of other hidden gems to find, little visitors are invited to use the interactive booklet to solve clues and answer questions on their way around the trail.
Entry to the Fairy Trail is included in castle and garden tickets. Fairy Trail Only tickets also available. Open from 9.30am, with last entry at 4.30pm in summer (April-October) and 3.00pm in winter (November-March).

GETTING HERE
Just 10 minutes from Dublin Airport and 25 minutes from Dublin city centre
Open daily from 9.30am, there are lots of public transport options available to get you to Malahide Castle from Dublin city centre and plenty of free parking on-site if you bring the car. Take the bus or train from Dublin city to Malahide village. The castle is only a ten minute walk away.

This is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to. The castle is lovingly preserved, don’t miss the tour, it’s wonderful and informative. Please allow lots of time to explore the beautiful gardens and pathways. There is a fairy garden and butterfly house, as well as a beautiful greenhouse. This is great for children of all ages!
